DOOA TROPICAL RIVER SOIL (2L)
TROPICAL RIVER SOIL, made from natural soil, is a substrate material ideal for aquariums and terrariums. It makes the aquarium water mildly acidic for aquatic plants and fish.
This substrate material reproduces a tropical atmosphere with exposed red soil. It proposes a new idea of “cosmetic soil.”
Due to the nature of the base soil, the granular shape stays for a long period, and it also lowers the pH level. Since the amount of organic matter is not as high as that of ADA Amazonia, plants grow slower in DOOA Tropical river soil. The Aqua Soil Series decreases the hardness of the water and lowers the PH level to the degree to which most aquatic plants can consume nutrients and comfortably grow. Aqua Soil granules maintain their shape and density for long periods underwater securing good circulation of water and oxygen through the substrate. With Aqua Soil, growing difficult plants such as Tonina sp. becomes easier, and it is ideal for fishes demanding soft water.

How many bags do you need?
- The general rule of thumb is one 2L bag per 3~4 gallons.
- Three 2L bags will give approximately 2 11/16 inches height in 1 square foot.
- To determine how many bags you need more accurately, multiply tank length by width by depth.
For example:
One 2L bag is equal to 2000 cubic centimeters (approximately 122.05 cubic inches).
In an ADA Cube Garden 30C aquarium with a length of 30cm and width of 30cm, you want a 4cm depth of soil:
30cm (length) x 30cm (width) x 4 1/2 cm (desired depth) = 4050 cubic centimeters = Approximately Two 2L bag of Tropical river soil
