MADEIRA SAND – Natural Decorative Aquarium Substrate

MADEIRA SAND is a natural decorative substrate designed for aquarium bases, aquascaping, and aquatic plant layouts. Blended from three types of natural sand, it features warm, earthy tones inspired by the Madeira River of the Amazon, creating a natural and inviting appearance in your aquarium.

The sand contains naturally varied grain sizes, allowing you to recreate the way sand and sediment are deposited by flowing water. By incorporating different grain sizes throughout your layout, you can achieve a more realistic and natural-looking riverbed effect.

Create a Natural Aquascape

After rinsing the sand, use a sand flattener to level the surface. Around the bases of driftwood and stones, gently mix and shape the sand using tweezers. This technique brings some of the coarser grains toward the surface, creating subtle variations in texture and grain size.

Varying the grain distribution throughout your aquascape adds depth and detail, helping create a more authentic natural riverbed appearance.

Safe for Aquariums

MADEIRA SAND does not affect water chemistry and can be safely used in aquariums. It is suitable for a wide range of freshwater aquascapes, including planted aquariums and natural-style layouts.
