The military helmet snail is a fun snail with round shape and shiny dark brown to black color that look like a soldier's helmet.  It is a great algae eater and cleans aquarium glass, plant leaves, and wood and rock surfaces well.  It belongs to the Neritidae family which means it will not reproduce easily in freshwater.
